Upcoming Events + Give Away!

We have some exciting news and upcoming events to tell you about.  First of all, Ragaboo will be joining New Age Hippy this coming weekend at the 24th annual Dancin’ in the Street event at the Beaches Town Center.  They call it the largest “beaches family reunion” as it attracts about 15,000 people from the Jacksonville Beaches area to enjoy live music, an art show, local vendors, a kid’s zone, great food, and much more.  A portion of our profits will gladly go to the North FLorida Land Trust (an organization dedicated to permanently preserving natural areas in North Florida).  Please click/see below for details:

Old School Barber Shop Now OPEN!

Old School Barber Shop is now OPEN in Ponte Vedra.  My husband Mike McAfee, a real estate broker with ReMax,  alongside Phillip Hewett of Beach Side Appraisals, Joe Cronk, a partner in Cronk Duch Architects, Ty Petway, CEO of Zurich Insurance, and Matt McAfee and Ray Driver, have all joined forces as long time friends and now business partners to open a new barber shop with an old school feel.  Old School Barber Shop is located at: 880 A1A N. Ponte Vedra- in the shopping center behind Bogey’s Grill. You can call 904-273-8203 to make an appointment, however walk-ins are welcome as well.

The shop offers full family services, including a hair cut for just $16 by one of the qualified barbers or stylists.  Also, gentlemen treat yourself to a steam towel, straight edge shave for $25.  There’s even a kid’s waiting area towards the back of the shop with a train and lego table and classic cartoons on the big screen.  So grab the kids, and enjoy the old school experience.

We are so excited about our new designs. We’re introducing them in person tomorrow at Whole Foods Market. Come see us from 9:30-11am, where I’ll be participating in “Healthy Kids’ Food and Nutrition Cooking Demo”.  I will be speaking about tips on living green.  Find out what those “try to avoid” ingredients are in your bath and body care products, listen to an overview of what I call “the three organic food groups” (produce, animals, and dry goods) and why it can be beneficial to purchase them organic, and discover for yourself why it could be beneficial to start using certified organic textiles in your home and on your body.  In addition, learn about nutrition tips on healthy eating from Jacksonville’s leading fitness and nutrition expert, Gabe Pearson from Power Challenge Fitness, LLC. Hear all about the amazing anti-aging benefits of Protandim and demystify the myths regarding supplements.  What do our bodies really need?  Is it the same for kids and adults?  Listen to powerful children’s nutrition advocate, Kim Purcell, discuss how she learned about alternatives, including changing her family’s diet to help her son who was diagnosed with ADD.

You won’t want to miss this one!

Hope to see you there and in peace-Ragda

Who’s your printer?

Ragaboo’s preferred printer is Greenerprinter, they print our business cards (left) and our line sheets.  There are several unique aspects to this company, most importantly they only use recycled paper that contains the highest possible percentages of recycled content and sustainably harvested papers.  It’s all processed without the use of chlorine.  Greenerprinter carries  four paper stock choices: a matte finish (Reincarnation), uncoated (Everest), high-gloss (Primavera), and semi-gloss (Sakura).

Recently, Greenerprinter announced that in 2009, they saved over 2,700 fully grown trees.  That’s over 612,000 pounds of wood! They receive eco-audits each year because it reveals the results of their efforts from throughout the year.  Below are 2009′s findings and below that all the results leading up to 2003.

I highly recommend using Greenerprinter for any of your printing needs. Click here to see a list of their products.

Ragaboo now at Rosenblum’s

Rosenblum’s was founded by Frank Rosenblum in 1898, as a pushcart of items in downtown Jacksonville. After the great fire, Frank opened the doors to one of the first men’s clothing stores in Jacksonville.  That store was the first step towards what was soon to be four locations in Jacksonville with Rosenblum’s carrying men’s and ladies clothing, and Frank’s three sons,  Herman, John and Sheldon later joining the business.  By the 1980′s Sheldon’s two sons, Bob and Richard had joined the family business, and Rosenblum’s was operating out of one store.  Through all these changes Rosenblum’s stayed true to their principles of excellent customer service and selection.  In 1996 Rosenblum’s opened the doors to a brand new location on San Jose Boulevard located directly on the St. Johns River, followed by the 2003 opening of their Jacksonville Beach location on Third Street.

We are honored and excited about RAGABOO BAMBOO CLOTHING being a part of Rosenblum’s extensive collection. Here are a few pictures of our displays located at both the San Jose and Jacksonville Beach stores.
